friend of mine
معنی mine را میدانیم. در ترم دوم، با چنین ضمیرهای ملکی (Possessive pronoun) مانند آن آشنا شدیم. It’s mine یعنی آن، مال من است.
حالا به نحوه استفاده از این کلمه در دو ویدئوی زیر توجه کنید:

میبینیم که در اینجا از of استفاده شده و یک عبارت اسمی سه کلمهای ساخته شده. در ترم اول و دوم، چند معنی و نکته گرامری درباره of را یاد گرفتیم و گفتیم که of، متعلق بودن و مالکیت را نشان میدهد: student of class یعنی دانشآموزِ [متعلق به] کلاس یا همان کسره مالکیت در فارسی.
ساختار جدیدی که اینجا داریم این است: NOUN + ‘OF’ + POSSESSIVE PRONOUN

مانند همیشه میتوانیم قبل از اسم (یا عبارت اسمی که اینجا داریم)، یک determiner مانند a بگذاریم.

در واقع ساختاری که اینجا داریم این است: FORM: FRIEND + ‘OF’ + POSSESSIVE DETERMINER + NOUN
یعنی به جای mine که یک ضمیر است، میتوانیم یک اسم یا عبارت اسمی مانند my dad بیاوریم.

اما در جمله They are friends of my dad’s هر دو رو استفاده کردیم. برای تاکید بیشتر روی مالکیت (میخوایم تاکید کنیم که اینها دوستها، دوستهای پدرم هستن)

ولی میشه ‘s رو نادیده گرفت بدون اینکه جمله اشتباه باشه.
یعنی Friends of my dad هم کاملاً درسته
