قبلاً کلمات پرسشی مانند why را یاد گرفتیم. در این ترم، یک ساختار جدید آن را یاد میگیریم تا بتوانیم سوالات بهتری بپرسیم.

این جمله ساده است اما اگر ساختار گرامری آن را بررسی کنیم، میبینیم که نسبتاً ساختار پیچیدهای دارد:
‘wh-‘words + the negative form of modal verbs + subject + main verb
در جمله بالا، سوال را با why پرسیدهایم و پس از آن از فعل کمکی منفی استفاده کردهایم: why can’t (چرا نمیتوانی؟)
بعد از آن هم فعل و فعل اصلی جمله میآید (subject + main verb): داریم میپرسیم که چرا نمیتوانی اسمهایشان را به خاطر بسپاری؟

علامت ‘ رو هم برای کلماتی مثل couden’t باید بگذاریم.
