She whispered to Sam, and they quickly climbed into a hollow tree. It was the tallest tree they had ever seen.

The zombies searched but couldn’t find them. It was the scariest moment they had ever faced.

Finally, the zombies left, and Sam and Maria felt relieved. It was the bravest thing they had ever done together.

    این قسمت از متن رو بار اول متوجه نشدم:
    had ever faced.
    و این کلمات رو هم در دیکشنری سرچ کردم:
    bravest- whispered- hollow
    ولی در کل بار اول متن رو متوجه شدم.

      عبارت had ever faced مثل have ever been و بقیه جلماتی هست که در متن داشتیم. اما احتمالاً فعل face جدید باشه. مثل فارسی face که به معنی صورت هست به معنی رو در رو شدن هست. میدونیم که رو به معنی face هم هست پس در هر دو زبان معنی مشابهی دارن
      bravest هم یعنی brave ترین. شاید فیلم شجاع دل (brave heart) رو دیده باشی یا انیمیشن brave.
      این کلمه جز کلمات ترم سوم هست که شما الان در حال گذراندنش هستی
      اما whispered مربوط به کلمات ترم چهارم هست
      اما hollow کلمه سخت تری به حساب میاد و کاربرد کمی هم داره. از روی تصویری که در متن داشتیم (فضای خالی درخت) میشه معنیش رو فهمید. یا با سرچ عکس در گوگل

      اینجا هم پرسیدم باید had
      در جمله باشد و گفت اینجوری صحیح تره.
      Using “had ever seen” indicates that, up until that point in time, the tree they found was the tallest among all the trees they had experienced or encountered in their lives. The past perfect tense is appropriate here because it refers to an action completed before another specified past time or event.
